A BRAVE effort from 10-man Lomond United ended in disappointment on Saturday.
They crashed out of the Fife Amateur Cup at the first hurdle, losing narrowly to Dunfermline City.
A difficult task against First Division opposition was made even tougher when on 20 minutes goalkeeper Colin Downie was given his marching orders for denying a clear goalscoring opportunity.
Defender Fraser Thomson took over between the sticks but was helpless to prevent the home side from scoring three times.
United still managed to score twice through captain and top scorer Danny Caldwell, who took his season's tally to eight.
Despite a lot of pressure towards the end of the match, Lomond could not find the equalising goal.
Star Check: 10 Gordon Forbes, 7 Danny Caldwell, 3 Fraser Thomson
